The new URC – Flour
Wheat crops, milling technology, work ethics and customer expectations are just few of the areas that have evolved in the milling industry over the past years. Being in commercial operations since 1970, Universal Robina Corporation – Flour Division is ready to embark this year as it fully operates three flourmills – Continental Milling Company (CMC) – Pasig, CMC – Davao, and the new URC Flour Plant with rated production capacities of 700, 300 and 550 tons of wheat per day, respectively. These three flourmills/ business units all fall under one larger umbrella organization — the URC – Flour Division.
In the effort of milling imported high quality wheat, URC Flour brands emerged as one of the best kinds of flour in the market today. The bulk of the business covers flour dealers, small to large-scale bakeries, and key institutional accounts including the Branded Consumer Foods Group (BCFG) of URC.
With the introduction of URC’s new state-of-the-art Flour Plant, the first fully automated flourmill in the country, URC can now provide a wide variety of flour that can meet specific customer requirements. Furthermore, with the technical expertise and experience of our new blood of engineers and managers, URC Flour Division is fully committed in providing quality products and dependable technical support to its customers. Hard or soft, Flowers or territories
Somewhere between the milling and the sifting, URC – Flour Division had its own distinctive way of distinguishing and putting a name into its products.
People are undeniably fascinated with the colorful state of flowers and drawn to its softness, whiteness and purity as it is widely used as major ornaments in parades and special occasions such as Flores de Mayo and other religious rites. Hence, name of flowers like WHITE ROSE, SAMPAGUITA and DAISY were chosen as flour brands to associate the feminine characteristic of Soft Wheat Flour.
The Softness, whiteness and fragility of these flowers made these names hit the market. Milled from soft wheat, products made from this type of flour gives the characteristics of soft, fluffy, good volume and tender bite.
On the other side, hearing the words UNIVERSAL, GLOBE and CONTINENTAL implies a wide territory. These brand names were chosen to signify the various applications and uses of Hard Wheat Flour and Specialty all-purpose flour in baking almost all variety of breads as well as the production of noodles and pasta giving customers the superior quality they need.
Whatever the name, whether it be soft and feminine as a flower or wide and encompassing as a territory, URC – Flour products will be there to provide bakers, cooks, and pastry lovers quality flour for quality baking.
