Total wellness celebrated at recent C2 event

C2 Cool and Green Tea, Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) popular line of healthy, ready-to-drink beverages, recently launched the “C2 Life” campaign, which advocates a fresh, fun and healthy lifestyle. C2 Life’s timely and practical philosophy encourages the holistic balance between mind, body and soul. Specially designed activities will allow the C2 beverage drinker and enthusiast opportunities to take part in activities that further heightens health awareness and promotes a more balanced way of living.

One such occasion was the recent launch of C2 Life, the C2 Life Festival, held at the Glorietta Activity Center in Makati. The day-long event was a multi-faceted celebration of wellness, from the participating exhibitors to the on-stage performance and presentations. The festival enjoyed a constant turnout of enthusiastic guests for the different activities, which allowed them a glimpse of better lifestyle options through the diverse line of hobby-specific and philanthropy-oriented booths as well as the various invited health, craft and food experts.

The show, which started around 11 a.m., was hosted by 99.5 RT’s DJ Slide, and later by TV personalities Sam Oh and Drew Arellano. C2 products and other prizes were given to lucky attendees, and a number of health-themed games made the revelries even more interesting to kids and grownups alike. The C2 Life Festival made sure that everyone had a grand time, whether through its educational and informative segments, or its entertainment-centric numbers. Guests soon learned important facts about lifestyle changes, as well as options that make health consciousness more enjoyable.

C2′s classic and new flavors were made available throughout the special event. Each purchase of any C2 drink during the festival and future C2 Life events entitles the buyer to a C2 Life Card, which allows the holder access to special activities and the chance to win in raffles and other exclusive contests. It was the ideal time to launch the privilege card, as the festival exemplified the welcome disparity of interests.

Studio Director Tristan Choa of Bikram Yoga Manila was on hand to discuss the advantages of physical and mental exercises through the specific disciplines that Bikram Yoga teaches. Aside from flexibility and proper posture, benefits such as personal growth and stress reduction were explained in detail.

Representatives of Slimmer’s World International, meanwhile, performed a lively dance routine using an invigorating series of aerobic moves. The stage also saw dancing of a different style, one that requires just as much enthusiasm and concentration. A mesh of balance, grace and artistry characterized the modernized, pop sensibilities of Ballet Manila’s seven dance numbers, which featured members pirouetting to famous OPM songs, and highlighted the timeless talent of celebrated ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde.

The stimulating fitness and aesthetic numbers were complemented by the art of cooking healthy cuisine, through demonstrations by culinary experts Nona Lema and Florabel Co, who generously shared tips on preparing vegetarian and South Beach Diet meals, respectively. Aside from these, the festival’s visitors were also able to partake of free art lessons throughout the afternoon. Paper recycling by Papemelroti, pottery by John Pettyjohn, Ikebana flower arranging by the Sogetsu Shool of Ikebana, and bonsai-raising lessons by the Philippine Bonsai Society, among others, attracted different aficionados to the venue.

Other participants and exhibitors during the C2 Life Festival were Lomo Manila, Federation of Professional Photographers Foundation, the Metropolitan Museum, the Ayala Museum, Bright Ideas Candles, Music One, Power Books, World Vision, Hands On Manila, the Robinson’s Children’s Library, Peak Performance, Sundari Spa, JB Sports Accessories, Blue Water Spa, Cebu Pacific and the Philippine Animal Welfare Society.

Jane Bernardo, Marketing Manager of C2, enthused that this event is only the beginning. “It kicks off a series of events intended to encourage people to lead well-rounded, healthy and balanced lifestyles,” she said. “We believe that wellness is not just a fad — it’s a way of life that’s holistic; it’s for the rejuvenation of the body, the broadening of the mind and the enrichment of the soul. This is our first event that has participants from different industries and passions. What threads all of them together is ‘the C2 Life.’ This isn’t just a one-time arrangement with them; it’s a long-term partnership.”

Bernardo added, “C2 is committed to promoting total wellness to Filipinos. We’re not just talking about physical health, but the well-being of a human being’s different facets: body, mind, and soul.”

The C2 Life card gives the holder access to special, life-enriching activities in the coming months. For September, active enthusiasts will be busy with weekly events like Taichi lessons, Bikram Yoga demonstrations, free Slimmer’s World workouts, and a Belly dancing seminar. October is slated for a walking tour of Intramuros and historic Old Manila, and gallery tours of the MET Museum’s “Images of Rock” and the Ayala Museum’s Great Filipino Artists series. November challenges the mind with a Jung seminar, a spine-tingling cemetery tour, and tarot card and feng shui readings. And December gives attendees the opportunity to help out and feel fulfilled, as C2 Card holders can volunteer for Hands On Manila to make the holiday season special for others.

  1. C2 Green Tea probably can stake a real claim to the slogan “C2 Adds Life”. I am a living testament to the amazing medicinal effects of C2 Green Tea. I “used” C2 Green Tea to:
    - lower my blood pressure
    - regulate my heartbeat
    - reduce my uric acid level and helps flush it out
    - and, of course, the convenience of just grabbing a right-sized cold bottle from the fridge. I do fill-up the ref with 1 liters (for the home) and the small bottles (for take-out).
I tried the other brands but, didn’t enjoy the same benefits I was getting from C2.
I stated “used” because we recently moved to Australia and there’s no C2 Green Tea here :-( I am now back to brewing tea bags :-( and trying every brand that would match-up to what C2 Green Tea did for me.
Hope you can start exporting here! Please!

  2. Though I could have thought that Noel could just be someone employed by John Gokongwei, C2 does help flush out the contents of those urine bags.

  3. C2 does not have the real green tea components as all ingredients are artificial. It does not quench your thirst, rather it would make you constipate. It’s full of sugar and artificial sugar can leave a bad effect in your body.
