John Lloyd stars in real-life magical scenes with unsuspecting fans

John Lloyd Cruz continues his magical streak around the metro as he sneaks into the daily routines of a lucky few to spring a one-of-a-kind surprise on them. In line with the on-going Nothing Like Magic campaign of Universal Robina Corporation’s (URC) Magic Crackers, the longtime endorser takes on made-for-movie roles and brings them to life for his adoring fans.

Employees at the i-Tech Global Business Solutions in Paco, Manila were in for a treat as the leading man paid them a visit. Posing as the new intimidating supervisor, John Lloyd introduces himself as a certain Miguel Montenegro and calls out the names of three agents for a very important notice.

Consistent top performers and frequent qualifiers of the company’s performance incentive program, Glady Bienvenido, Gilbert Juanites and Rodelio Arma were handpicked to share a magical moment with John Lloyd, whom awarded the deserving awardees with Robinsons gift certificates worth P15,000 each.

Nabigla ako. Sabi ko, ano to joke? Gusto ko na matulala. Sobra,” says Glady.

“Syempre nakaka-excite ‘yung pagpunta ni John Lloyd at ‘yung pag-award sa amin. Nakakataba talaga ng puso,” shares Gilbert.

“First time ko makakuha ng ganito kalaking prize,” says Ledor. “Thank you Magic and URC for continuing to appreciate ‘yung mga katulad namin.”

The matinee idol also dropped by the Technological Institute of the Philippines, this time under the guise of a recently hired Marine Engineering professor by the name of Miguel Gonzales. Suited up in an officer’s uniform, John Lloyd surprises the students and makes a special request for third year Marine Engineering scholars and student government officers Claire Banzagales and Lynda Hernane to join him on stage.

Both girls go up the stage to meet the actor, who congratulates them for a job well done at school and hands them P25,000 worth of Robinsons gift certificates each.

“Na-shock ako kasi unexpected. Ishi-share ko ‘to kasi hindi ko naman mauubos ‘yung P25,000. A part of it, we will contribute to our donations for the Yolanda victims,” reveals Claire.

“Nakapag-donate na kami so para sa next batch of donations naman ‘to,” adds Lynda. “Thank you sa Magic kasi sa dinami-dami ng students sa TIP, kami ang napili.”

All Robinsons gift certificates are valid for use in all Robinsons Retail Holdings stores such as Robinsons Supermarket, Robinsons Department Store, Handyman, Toys R Us, Topshop, Warehouse, River Island, and many more.
